my ramblings on random thoughts
Iron and rust deposits on hair are a common phenomenon. They may be caused by well water, excessive hard water or water which comes from old rusty pipes that get iron films on them due to their years of corrosion. It may also be caused due to perming your hair or by use of excessive chemicals, in the forms of hair dyes, etc. These damage the cuticles of the hair and once the hair shafts are damaged, they are exposed to a lot of mineral deposits that causes the redness and rustiness. This is more evident on people who have lighter hair color than those who have dark hair. To learn how to remove iron and rust from hair, read on…
How to Remove Iron and Rust from Hair

• Another option is to use lemon juice. Apply lemon juice on your hair, leave for 10-15 minutes and rinse thoroughly.

• Do not let your hair remain wet for a long time, as the reaction between iron and water cause rust to occur.
• Do not use excessive chemicals and avoid experimenting a lot with the use of machines on your hair.
